Mizero Alphonse is a final-year student at the University of Rwanda, Huye Campus, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. With a deep commitment to community development and social justice, he has dedicated his academic journey to understanding the challenges faced by vulnerable populations and identifying sustainable solutions through advocacy, empowerment, and service.
In addition to his studies, Mizero serves as the Coordinator of Youth Volunteers at the University of Rwanda, Huye Campus for the academic year 2024–2025. In this role, he leads and mobilizes young people to engage in community outreach activities such as umuganda (community work), including rebuilding homes, constructing toilets, and establishing kitchen gardens for vulnerable families. Through this work, he promotes social awareness and contributes to national development through volunteerism. This experience has significantly enhanced his leadership skills and strengthened his passion for youth empowerment and civic engagement.
Mizero is also a dedicated volunteer with the Friends of Motherland Initiative “Ubumuntu,” a non-governmental organization focused on grassroots change. He currently supports their work in Huye District, Tumba Sector, Cyarwa Cell, Agasharu Village, contributing to community-led development efforts.
Driven by a desire to create lasting impact, Mizero aims to continue working with young people, supporting vulnerable groups, and advancing social change. He believes that meaningful transformation begins at the grassroots level and is committed to using his skills, knowledge, and energy to help build a more inclusive and compassionate society.
