Tuyizere Pacifique is a 24-year-old aspiring social worker currently in his second year at the University of Rwanda, pursuing a degree in Social Work. His educational journey began in 2007 at Ntoma Primary School, where he studied until 2015. He then attended Group Scolaire Nyendo for his ordinary level education from 2016 to 2018. Determined to expand his knowledge in the humanities, he specialized in History, Economics, and Geography at Group Scolaire Rwimiyaga, completing his advanced level studies in 2022.
After finishing high school, Tuyizere gained valuable hands-on experience as a schoolteacher, a role he held from 2022 until May 30, 2023. Teaching not only honed his instructional skills but also provided him with deeper insight into the challenges students and their families face. Alongside his teaching experience, he actively participated in URUGERERO, a national civic service program, where he took on a leadership role as the head of URUGERERO in his sector. This experience strengthened his leadership skills and deepened his commitment to community service.
Tuyizere’s passion for social work is further demonstrated through his involvement in gender-based violence training, which equipped him with the necessary tools to address and combat this pressing issue in society. His dedication to helping others led to his selection as a volunteer with FMI Ubumuntu, an opportunity that allows him to contribute meaningfully to his community. He is particularly interested in initiatives that promote social justice, education, and the empowerment of marginalized groups.
With a strong belief in the power of education and community engagement, Tuyizere is determined to make a lasting impact on society. As he continues his studies, he aspires to influence policy and practice in social work, advocating for vulnerable populations and working toward a more just and equitable society. His journey is a testament to his unwavering commitment to social change and his ambition to create a better future for those in need.
